The Silverberry (Elaeagnus ebbingei)
The silverberry (Elaeagnus ebbingei) is a moderately fast-growing evergreen plant that reaches about 3 to 4 meters in height in its natural form. The Elaeagnus ebbingei blooms in September-October, producing small, fragrant white flowers. It thrives in both sun and partial shade and is suitable for all types of soil. The silverberry is also highly resistant to sea winds.
A versatile shrub with a more "loose" character, it can also be effectively used in a ball or hedge form. The silverberry has broad, oval, dark green leaves with small white spots. The undersides of the leaves are silver-white. The young leaf shoots are bronze-colored and open to reveal a beautiful silver hue.
